Happy New Year and welcome to 2010! Students, parents and faculty, I hope that everyone had a truly wonderful holiday break enjoying all the comforts of home. As we start this new decade, I would like to remind everyone why La Paloma Academy continues to have such great success - teamwork. My hope for La Paloma Academy in 2010 and beyond is that we continue to grow and celebrate education and character. This focus and attitude is why we are where we are today. Keep up the great work!
On the topic of growth, one of our largest fundraisers of the year is right around the corner - Raising Funds 4 Raising Kids Golf Classic. This is our third annual tournament and we hope this year's event can top the last two! The golf classic will take place at Forty Niner Country Club on March 20, 2010. The format is a four-man scramble with golfing beginning at 7:30 a.m. A complimentary lunch, raffle and silent auction will follow. We hope you can be a part of it! Invite your friends! All proceeds will go towards expanding programs at the school and making existing programs at La Paloma Academy even better.
I would like to thank those individuals and local businesses who have supported us in past years, including Tucson Mayor Bob Walkup and Vice Mayor of Marana Herb Kai! We look forward to seeing all of you on the greens again this year!
This year's fundraising goal is to raise money for technology, which has become ever so important in the classroom today. We aim to expand our computer labs so that many more students can use computers at once.
At the current time, we are looking for players, sponsors, raffle and silent auction donations and volunteers for the day. Please spread the word and help us make this the best year ever!
