The AZMerit replaces the former AIMS tests in reading, writing and mathematics, as the state’s new assessment. (Students in grades 4 & 8 will still take the AIMS science test.)
Test dates are as follows:
AzMerit (grades 3-8):
- Tuesday, April 14 Writing
- Thursday, April 16 Reading, Part 1 and Math Part 1
- Friday, April 17 Reading, Part 2 and Math, Part 2
Makeup dates:
- Monday, April 20
- Tuesday, April 21 (not grades 4 & 8)
- Thursday, April 23
- Friday, April 24
AIMS Science (grades 4 & 8):
- Tuesday, April 21
Makeup dates:
- Thursday, April 23
- Friday, April 24
On Thursday, May 14, grade 4 will take the TIMSS (Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study), an assessment that measures against international standards and achievement.
