Welcome to my web site for our first grade class! I am very excited to have developed this so that you can follow along with some of our experiments, Apps, books and other resources we are using in our classroom! I am going to start putting more photographs, video's and links to resources that the kids have particularly enjoyed or that they can benefit from additional practice at home.
This school year, we have implemented a new math test, called Acuity, which has test questions closely alligned with our Arizona state standards. Many of these Apps that reinforce questions on the test can be accessed through either the iPad, iPhone or iPod touch. I am sure that there are other Apps available for the other manufacturer of tablets or smart phones.
Additionally, we have begun to work with and learn to use technology to our advantage in the classroom! We currently are using 3 iPads, with the ultimate goal of obtaining 3 more so that each learning group will have one to use for small group work. This is a work in progress with the children to see the different formats we can use to present our class projects and new ideas! They are very excited to learn that their hard work will soon be on the web site to share with family and friends!
