Starting Salary $48,000 (prorated for the remainder of the contracted school year)
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate K–5 Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs in an inclusive, student-centered environment. The ideal candidate is collaborative, organized, and committed to helping every child reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Provide specialized instruction to students in grades K–5 in small-group and/or inclusion settings
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support student success
- Monitor and document student progress toward academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals
- Conduct assessments and participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with IDEA and district policies
- Foster a positive, supportive, and structured classroom environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field
- Valid Arizona Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with elementary-aged students
- Strong classroom management and differentiation skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Commitment to inclusive practices and equity in education
