Studies Show Social and Academics Excel with Kinder Students in All-Day Programs

Tucson, AZ (March 1, 2018) – The mission of La Paloma Academy is to build a solid foundation for every child that passes through their doors. Kindergarten is such an important year as a student starts their true school career. With that in mind, La Paloma knows the benefits of full-day Kindergarten are tremendous. That is why the school continues to make it easier for parents by offering their program at no cost.

La Paloma has a quality and rigorous academic program—tuition-free. Highly qualified teachers, incredible sports programs and a values-based curriculum. Plus, kindergarteners attend school for a full day at no extra cost, better preparing them for future classroom involvement.

La Paloma Academy is one of the largest charter school systems in Southern Arizona. The school has opened its enrollment for kindergarten through 8th grade students for the 2018-2019 academic year. “For 16 years we have seen first-hand the positive impact of full-day Kindergarten,” said Superintendent Jackie Trujillo. “It can truly make a difference for young learners. It helps guide them to develop and practice social and academic skills. It better prepares them for first grade and lays the groundwork for future success. Providing this full-day program, free to our families, is something we will not compromise on.”

Further adding to the benefits of La Paloma Academy is the FREE before-and after-school program and their FREE breakfast programs. The before and after school program runs from 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. The students receive snacks and help with homework, all in a structured environment, at no cost, in order to help our working parents.

La Paloma Academy offers grades K-8 with three convenient Tucson locations: Central, Lakeside and South campuses. Kindergarten classes all have additional highly qualified Instructional Assistants working with the teachers, in order to better facilitate individualized instruction. La Paloma implements Beyond Textbooks and an academic curriculum which aligns with the Arizona State Standards. Subjects include language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, health and safety and character education. La Paloma promotes values like trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship.
