On September 27, 2015 in a special section of their Sunday Edition, the Arizona Daily Star published the results of their 2015 Readers’ Choice Awards votes. La Paloma Academy performed admirably in the charter school category, finishing in the top three out of 34 schools on the ballot. As such, they were awarded “Favorites” status and appear in the special issue.
Kevin Adger of KOLD-TV visited La Paloma South Campus to learn more about how parents can help prepare their children for the new school year. Principal Paul Bummer spoke about the importance of helping children get back into a routine by going to bed early and also substituting electronic games for educational activities.

Why: Launch of installation of solar panels at the Central and Lakeside campuses. The addition of solar power this summer will potentially save the charter school more than $1 million over the next 20 years. La Paloma students will use a golden shovel to dig the first hole for the installation, which will ultimately free resources that will benefit their academic environment.
