On November 6th & 7th, volunteers will create a 10 ft. x 10 ft. mosaic tile mural on campus.
The Kindness Corridor is a network of tile and mirror public art projects that symbolize community connection and the commitment to practicing kindness. Throughout Tucson, artists, students and community members have collaborated to create beautiful kindness themed murals that celebrate the philosophy of Ben’s Bells. Ben’s Bells was born out of a tragedy in Tucson but now inspires kindness and kindness education nationwide.
For safety reasons, only adults will be allowed to participate in the actual creation of the mural. The project needs many volunteers and welcomes spectators too, for this fun, creative and inspirational event.
La Paloma is the perfect new addition to the Kindness Corridor because kindness is a natural extension of our Six Pillars of Character: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship. When students see the mural, they will be reminded of the values that our character curriculum reinforces.
Please consider participating in this exciting project, as an artist or in some other volunteer capacity. Let’s make this a true community project!
