No Laughing Matter … or Maybe it is

April is National Humor Month, a time to honor all those who make us laugh—family, friends, neighbors, teachers, performers, and professionals. This celebration was established in 1976 in an effort to promote public awareness of the value of laughter, which has been shown to improve health, boost morale, increase communication skills, and enrich people’s quality of life.

La Paloma Academy Central & Lakeside Academies Team Up for the Fun Run

The Spring Fun Race is coming to La Paloma Academy on Saturday, April 23, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. La Paloma’s Central and Lakeside campuses will participate in a FUN event for the whole family, featuring sack races, dunk tanks, obstacle courses, food, raffles, and much more … GET READY!

The event will be held at La Paloma Academy Central Campus at 2050 N. Wilmot Rd. in Tucson. Cost of participation is $15 per person, and anyone who brings in $20 in pledges gets in free.

Special Election on Education Issues

On May 17, 2016 there will be special election on Arizona Education Finance Amendment, Proposition 123 (2016). Prop 123 is the proposed settlement between the parties of the Cave Creek Unified School District v. State of Arizona, which was ruled on in 2013 by the State Supreme Court. The ruling states that the state legislature’s undercutting and adjustments of the funding guidelines approved by voters in Prop 301 (2000) was a violation of the voter mandate.

Summer’s on the Way

Looking for a way to keep the kiddo(s) engaged this summer? La Paloma Academy’s Summer Camp runs from May 23 through July 22, 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. With monthly themes and daily activities, including tae kwon do, volleyball, movies, and field trips, the kids will love it. Parents will love the enrichment classes meant to keep young minds focused and engaged.
