At La Paloma Academy, we believe that high-quality early childhood education is essential for a strong academic foundation. We are a tuition-free charter school offering strong academics, sports programs, and extracurricular activities that will get your child excited about school.
Many kids spend the third Monday of February sleeping in late and enjoying a day off from school. With an extended weekend in the future, it’s a perfect time to explain to your children the full history about Presidents’ Day. We can help you get started:
Come see the play The Little Red Hen Makes a Pizza on Friday, February 9 at 6 p.m., as part of our Literacy Night Celebration, brought to life by the Title I staff. We’ll have a free pizza dinner, raffle with prizes, and photos with the characters.
Enjoy a special night of pizza, games, contests, and more! Our Peter Piper Pizza FUNdraiser, at 5925 E. Broadway Blvd., La Paloma Lakeside will receive 15% off food orders placed by La Paloma families. So come out and support our school, enjoy some great pizza and entertainment for the whole family.
When it comes to learning the details of language, math or science, there is no reason why your children should look at this as a chore. Creating a grammar wall at home is an opportunity to make learning more like a favorite game. Here are some artistic and exciting ways to get started.
Do you have mad science skills? The Mad Scientist Club meets every Thursday 3:30-4:30 p.m. in Ms. Chambers’ classroom. Club membership is $25 and includes a Mad Scientist Club T-shirt!
Do you play chess? Join the Lakeside Chess Club, which meets every Thursday 3:30-4:30 p.m. in Ms. Bell’s classroom. Open to students in 3rd-8th Grades. Cost is $25 and includes a Chess Club T-shirt.
LPA Lakeside is hosting Kindness Week, beginning January 22. It kicks off with a Kindness Checklist Challenge that will have acts of kindness for students to complete during the week. Each day presents a new challenge for students to be kind, so everyone get together this week and show kindness to others in your own unique way.
Arizona Basketball Academy’s Youth Basketball Clinic comes to Lakeside on January 20, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and is open to boys and girls, ages 9-14. The $20 registration fee includes a free basketball and camp shirt.
Parents and guardians are invited to come in and view their child’s progress, get home activities, and parent resources for homework help. Learn about the upcoming standards that your child will be learning next quarter, so we encourage all parents and/or guardians to attend.
Kids grow up fast and parents often get too caught up in daily activities to think about their child’s future. Writing down all your experiences, hopes, and lessons for your future adult child will help give them a better understanding of how you were at that age and what they should expect in the coming years. Your child is young now, but what do you want to tell them when they become an adult?
Thank you to everyone who donated toys and funds this holiday season. The generosity of Lakeside families is always greatly appreciated.
