National Women’s History Month

March is National Women’s History Month, and 2018’s theme honors women who fight all forms of discrimination against women. Women’s History Month first began as a single day, which later led to a week, and now we dedicate the whole month of March to honoring women’s achievements in history. Jump Rope for Heart Beats with the Sound of Little Feet

LPA Lakeside is proud of their participants in the Jump Rope for Heart event, sponsored by the American Heart Association. They have several students participating, but Parker D. is proving to go the distance, with more than $1,000 raised for Lakeside! Let’s give him a big heart-felt thank you and keep on jumping, Parker!

Teen Lifeline Presentations

LPA Lakeside is proud to present the team from Teen Lifeline, who will give two presentations that tackle tough topics like bullying, isolation, stress and compassion. The first talk is March 13 for grades 7-8, and the team returns March 28 for a talk with grade 6. Be sure your student attends this informative and helpful class.

Black History Month

February is full of holidays with Groundhog Day, Valentine’s Day, and Presidents’ Day. The whole month of February is also a time to celebrate and remember the great accomplishments and impact of notable African American figures in history.
