The end of the school year is nearing and with that in mind, our annual Parent Survey is here. On May 17, 2016 there will be special election on Arizona Education Finance Amendment, Proposition 123 (2016). Prop 123 is the proposed settlement between the parties of the Cave Creek Unified School District v. State of Arizona, which was ruled on in 2013 by the State Supreme Court. The ruling states that the state legislature’s undercutting and adjustments of the funding guidelines approved by voters in Prop 301 (2000) was a violation of the voter mandate.

April 2016 marks the 20th anniversary of National Poetry Month. According to the Academy of American Poets, this observance has become the “largest literary celebration in the world, with tens of millions of readers, students, K-12 teachers, librarians, booksellers, literary events curators, publishers, bloggers, and, of course, poets marking poetry’s important place in our culture and our lives.”
