March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. A lot has changed in the 30 years since Ronald Reagan proclaimed the first Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month in 1987. The main change has come in education which, until fairly recently, had no cohesive plan for teaching the developmentally disabled.
On Thursday, April 6, AIMS (Arizona Instrument to Measure Standards) science assessment testing will be conducted for grades 4 and 8, while students in other grades will have the opportunity to make up any standardized tests they have missed. Parents, please be certain your student is present and on time the day of the test.
Wednesday, March 29, will be our third and final Parent-Teacher Data Night of this school year. Parents of students in grades 3-8 will receive information on their children’s progress, District Formative Assessments, and Galileo Benchmarks. Incentives will be awarded to parents who attend this event. Please contact your child’s teacher for further information.
