Central Students Honor Parkland Shooting Victims

The students of La Paloma Central remember the 14 students and 3 faculty members from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, who were killed in a shooting on February 14. Students read the victims’ names and observed 10 seconds of silence for each. They also wrote inspirational messages on a 100-foot chain, made from cut-outs of the school’s Be Kind mural. The chain will be sent to Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

Vaping: A Dangerous Trend for Kids

There’s a new health issue for parents to be aware of. Across the country, middle schools and high schools have seen an increase in disciplinary referrals due to e-cigarettes, or vaping.

Daddy-Daughter Dance

La Paloma Central will hold its Daddy-Daughter Dance on Friday, April 6, from 6-8:30 p.m. Female students and the significant male in their lives are cordially invited for an evening of dancing, fun, and cherished memories.

National Women’s History Month

March is National Women’s History Month, and 2018’s theme honors women who fight all forms of discrimination against women. Women’s History Month first began as a single day, which later led to a week, and now we dedicate the whole month of March to honoring women’s achievements in history. Check out the timeline throughout the years that guided the way for Women’s History Month:
